H Gourmet and Vibes is a new trendy restaurant and bar that opened last year in the Senopati area. As I'm currently on a diet, I didn't try the food which consists mostly of fat American dishes (grilled meats, burgers, melted cheese, specialty french fries, sandwiches, etc). If you are skinny or not particularly concerned about eating healthy, I'm sure many items are as delicious as fried cheese with mayo can be.
My main interest was to test the bar. I had heard many praises from friends and I wanted to see for myself.
H Gourmet and Vibes is in brand new building which seems to be still under construction. Hipsters probably love that. The best thing about the place are the large windows that let you see the nearby trees with the skyscrapers in the background. In particular, you have an original clock-shaped window just behind the bar. The rest is your typical vintage-industrial design that many new venues in Jakarta I've chosen to copy from one another. It looks particularly neat in H though and it certainly explains part of its success.

The crowd is almost entirely made of Indonesians, most of them in their early 20s. It is the same kind that hangs out in Lucy in the Sky. The place is full most evenings, especially from Wednesday night until Saturday. You should book a table in advance on those nights.
They have live music (acoustic cover bands) followed by DJs from Tuesday to Saturday night. The music is mainstream, popular hits, unless during special events. It is worth noting that the official owners of H Gourmet and Vibes are the singer Vidi Aldiano and his dad, the event organizer Harry Kiss.
Overall: H Gourmet is new, crowded and happening. I'm too old to hang out there, but if you are under 30 and you like to party with educated, well-behaved people, this is one of Jakarta's current hot spot.
The staff didn't seem to be very friendly. One of the waiters was even quite unpleasant to deal with.
