A friend recommended me to visit On On Pub in Semarang, which he described as one of the happenings nightspots in the city with Sakapatat.
I must not have been very lucky because it was almost empty when I was there, on a Saturday night at midnight. Maybe it was too late... Maybe they aren't as popular as they used to be...
The place seemed ok if you are hoping to talk to a few foreigners while having a western meal and a beer. You have quiet music and if you are lucky, you may find a group of girls alone.
It is located in the Southern part of the town in an upmarket residential area. Another option if you are under 35 is to go to Sakapatat which is more busy. You also have The George and Dragon Pub.
Note that apparently, you have a massage parlour plus plus located just in front of On On Pub in Rinjani Hotel. It is called Shintya Sauna. You also have a karaoke and pub with ladies... I tried to go inside but the security was not particularly friendly so I left...
