The Level Nightclub, Bar, Karaoke (Makassar)

The Level is a modern one-stop entertainment complex in Makassar featuring a restaurant, a coffee shop, a bar, a nightclub and a karaoke. Built on 5 floors, it is located on the popular Losari beachfront right next to the Aryaduta Hotel (Rp600,000 per night on Agoda). 

It is one of most famous nightlife spots in the city and one of my top recommendations for hangout.

Most outlets in Level have a nice view on the sea. For this reason, you can go there late afternoon as well to enjoy a drink or smoke a shisha (especially on the terrace). They have Western and Asian food too, quite more expensive than the average for Makassar and not particularly tasty. A plate of spaghetti costs Rp60,000 and a steak Rp140,000. 

The club itself is quite small, with a 400-person capacity on two floors (the second one is more a mezzanine actually). It is not particularly original apart from its huge bay window. There are no dancefloor, only tables and sofas. You normally have live music and DJ every night, with a special event every 2 weeks (famous band or DJ, fashion show). The 10-room karaoke has hostesses/lady companions that you may bring to the club to drink with you.

Though the karaoke is a bit naughty, there are still many "normal" people who visit the club. In the restaurant in particular, it is not rare to see female customers wearing the jilbab.

Rooftop/Club (4 and 5th floor) - Every day from 4pm to 2am

Buy 1 Get 1 Beer from 10am until 11am (restaurant), from 4pm to 11pm (bar and lounge), from 8pm to midnight (club and karaoke)
