Safe House is the newest nightclub in Chiang Mai. It is located in the nightlife area of Loi Kroh Road where dozens bars and live music pubs can be found. More precisely, it is in the basement of the Duangtawan Hotel.
You need to pay an entrance fee of 200THB that does not include any free alcoholic drinks. Inside, the cheapest beer will cost you 100THB and the cheapest cocktail 200THB.
There is an underground vibe to Safe House that I really enjoyed. The lighting is quite aggressive (flashing lights) and the overall design is minimalist. The music was a bit too loud yet I was happy to hear some tech-house/techno instead of the usual mainstream EDM/Trap party anthems. I have no idea if that's what they intend to play all the time or if it was just a one-time thing though.
I was there a bit early at midnight and it was still very quiet. The few people there were young tourists (wearing shorts and sandals) and two groups of Thai girls (no idea if they were prostitutes or hi-so girls).
Overall: If Safe House could manage to stay open a little later (at least 3AM) and to maintain quality clubbing music, there is no doubt it could become the best nightclub in Chiang Mai.
